Using the Kronos as an external device
I am unable to get the Kronos to produce any sound while using it as an external device.
I have turned MIDI local "off" and tried various combinations in both the Combi and Seq mode, although I would prefer to control the external device via the Seq mode.
The keyboard portion has been set up as a controller with no problem and a MIDI signal is being received, just nothing coming out the other end, so to speak. As an FYI, I am able to play the plug-ins that came with the DAW package just not the Kronos's sound engines.
Would this have anything to do with the Korg Drivers? I am currently using the UM-1 drivers that came with my MIDI to USD connection.
I'm 99.9% sure everthing has been set up on the external DAW program correctly and the issue is within the Kronos somewhere

Using the Kronos as an external device
I'm trying to use Studio One V2 but am open to any quality DAW that will work with the Kronos.Qtipcore wrote:Are you sending midi to the Kronos on the same midi channel as the Global channel?
What DAW/software are you using?
Once I turned off the internal MIDI the controller portion just started working (receiving data on my laptop screen). Since I'm limited to 16 MIDI channels my first track to the external portion of the Kronos has been set to MIDI 1.
Am I doing this wrong?
Thanks
Make sure the MIDI thru is on in your computer DAW

Do you have any other synth or module to test it with? Meaning playing from the Kronos into the computer as you are now, but routing the output to a different synth/module that you know how to set up? That way you'll know whether or not it's a setting in the Kronos or in the DAW that you're missing.
