Radias mod wheel outputs 20 value at off position

Post by Rexy »

How do you fix the Radias mod wheel when it is outputting a value of 20 when it should be 0. Is there a way to calibrate it or is the potentiometer failing so needs to be cleaned or replaced ?

Could it be that the potmeter is broken? When you turn up the wheel, does it only increase value or do you see values lower than 20?

The korg potmeters are of poor quality. I onced replaced one of the EG's potmeters since it intermittendly set random values. And now I have the same issue with a 'gate' potmeter.

The mod wheel at 0 position flutters values of 20-21 and when moved beyond it functions normally. I wonder if taking the keyboard assembly apart and cleaning the wheel will help.

I've read of some of this problems. The fluttering could be solved by adding a small capacitor in parallel with the potmeter. Other cause can be a bad grounding and/or poor contact in the mainboard connectors which go to the offboard potmeters.

Somwhere in the deeps of this forum there are a lot of ideas and fix attempts about this issues
