I finally decided to let go - selling my Kronos. No reserve!
On eBay, .99 cents, no reserve, free shipping. Yup... I'm feeling pretty crazy.

I figured some of you would be curious to know what you would get for your new Kronos. Let me be the guinea pig!!!
I just noticed the photo makes the keys look funky - it's because of protective cardboard pieces. Should I take it out and and retake the photos, or do you think most people will assume it's ok? Any feedback would be helpful. I really need to get as much as I can for this thing.
I'm VERY curious to see how much this thing sells for.
Thanks all!

On Ebay you wrote:
"I purchased this unit brand new a few months ago. It has less than 30 minutes total use. "
How does anyone manage to have a Kronos for months and not be excited to play it for hours and hours??? What did you buy it for?
And why do you sell it at one of the possibly worst moments in time? I mean, who will spend much money, days before Winter Namm, while we wait for a general fix of some issues out there???
Perplexed, but here we go...

Yikes - I didn't think about the timing. Oh darn...
When I first got it, I spent about 30 minutes trying to go through the basics, and was completely overwhelmed. I am ashamed to admit how many hours I have into the tutorials. Also, I travel a lot for my job - so I would spend all of my flying time watching and re-watching the tutorials on the plane. Every time I would try to practice what I learned, I would end up shutting it off in disgust.
I paid about 3300 for the unit.
I guess I will retake the photos!

I don't get it in this thread you ask for advice tell the person helping you will give it a try and 6 minutes later put a thread up that it is on eBay. No way did you have time to try, then put it on eBay, then post here. Something doesn't add up to me.

So what has been so frustrating to you?spumoni wrote:... Every time I would try to practice what I learned, I would end up shutting it off in disgust. ...
Every time I sit down and play this treaure chest, it is hard for me to look at the clock and stop.

Just FYI, your statement about "still under factory warranty" is incorrect.
Korg USA warranties are only applicable to the original purchaser.

Even if you did not register the keyboard, any warranty work requires a copy of the original sales receipt, which would have your name on it.All Korg products purchased from a Korg USA authorized dealer are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship to the original consumer purchaser as listed below:
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)
Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)
Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

I think there is confusion here... I'm sorry if anything seems dishonest but I can assure you that is not the case.
I listed the item on eBay first, THEN posted the link. I have not retaken the photos yet. Please explain why that may seem irregular.
As for the warranty, I did NOT realize that was the case. I will contact Korg tomorrow and verify. If so I will remove that statement.
As always, thanks for the feedback everyone!
As for the question "what seems overwhelming", my answer is: EVERYTHING! For some reason I just can't grasp the Kronos architecture. And rather than investing the time, I'd rather use something like Abelton that's a little more "standard".
Thanks all!

It isn't about the photo's, it's that you asked for advice in the Kronos forum ("final recordings sound poor" ring a bell?), said you would try it, and six minutes later had a post in here with a link to your eBay auction.spumoni wrote: I think there is confusion here... Any self-admitted newbie who sells his gear before learning how to use it is likely to remain a newbie, and is wasting one of the best opportunities to learn it. It always takes lots of time, effort, and head-scratching to learn new gear, some of us more than others, but it's those who are patient and keep at it the hardest who make headway. Then it all sinks-in and becomes "obvious" and you wonder why it took so long to get it. You'll never reach that point if you give up so early. There are many musicians who can't afford to buy a Kronos, so it's painful to see someone like you throw away such a great opportunity so readily.
Imagine if someone bought a Ferrari and sold it a few weeks later because he couldn't figure out how to work everything on it right away. Everyone who lusts after a Ferrari might be rather disgusted with that owner for not even enjoying it for a while while he has it, even though it's his right to do whatever he pleases with his own stuff.

So True....I'm one of those who stuggle But I make it a point to learn One thing a day, even if it's something really basicxmlguy wrote:Any self-admitted newbie who sells his gear before learning how to use it is likely to remain a newbie, and is wasting one of the best opportunities to learn it. Now I understand. I was going back into the forum to post my eBay link and remembered that I never responded to the folks that were trying to help me. I had already tried normalizing a track like they suggested, which helped, but I had already decided about Abelton by that time. I realized I never responded, but didn't want to say "Thanks guys, but I decided to sell it instead because I'm a baby and a quitter." Perhaps I should have!?
I think that final post (about sound quality) was the breaking point for me. The very next day I had a few discussions with some people that are making a lot of their own (professional sounding) tracks. They all recommended I try Abelton, so I downloaded a demo. It was then that I realized I probably jumped the gun purchasing the Kronos.
I respect what you're all saying - I'm usually very passionate about everything I own, and I've never jumped ship so quickly... but I think this time I may have made a mistake. This is defintely not my first piece of equipment, but for some reason I'm having a hell of a time learning it. It's only been two days with Ableton Live and I'm already flipping thought screens and creating tracks. For me, this is all I really need. I think I'm realizing its more about the fact that maybe the Kronos isn't a good fit for me.
Think of it this way - I'm giving someone else an opportunity to acquire a great machine for a fraction of the price!

Selling Your Cadillac?
As a dedicated user one would assume before you buy a kronos you would have some knowledge of it capabilities and where you can take it in respect to it's functioning. I downsized to get this board selling my CX 3 and Pa 1 ProX so I could travel light and have everything at my fingertips. I had been watching tutorials since they were released and the first day I got it I was on it 8 hrs. I am fortunate to be retired allowing me numerous hours escaping into a world of bliss lol and yes I said bliss. I would suggest you give it a chance my friend.
I understand what you're saying. Normally when I purchase a new piece of equipment, I learn everything I can about it before it arrives. This is the first exception.
Unfortunately I move too fast. I already ordered Ableton Suite along with an Akai 88 key controller... and some other things. Hopefully the amount I get for the Kronos will cover this expense.
Don't get me wrong, I know the Kronos is the best thing out there, but I really think I made the wrong choice.
BTW, according to KORG the warranty is NOT transferrable, so I added that note to my eBay listing.
