Where to buy?

Post by cobray »

Where is a good place to buy a Korg Kronos? I have to do it via internet and have it shipped to a friend who will bring it down for me.
I've been looking on eBay and some authorized dealers who offer packages.
Also, significant price difference between the 60 and 71 key version. How different is the feel in the weighted keys?
Thanks for your help!

Best place to buy from might well depend on where in the world you are, so unless I missed something a location would be useful!

There is certainly a difference between the keyboards on the 61 key version and the others, with the 61 being a lighter, more "synth-like" action whereas the others are closer to the action of a piano. What's best for you will probably depend on what you're used to playing - I guess you can only be really sure which you prefer by trying out both types either in a store or by finding local people who own them.

One warning -- the Korg Country Distributor of the country where you purchase handles all warranty claims for your unit, and is responsible for all product support.

For example, if you purchase a Kronos in the U.S. and take it to another country, any warranty repairs you might have would require you to ship it back to the U.S., at your expense.

The best price, at least in the U.S., would be done by calling/emailing a number of different dealers and asking them what their lowest price would be.
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)

Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

I am on a small island called Little Cayman. Only 150 people live here, so not many keyboard owners. I don't think there is a music store on Grand Cayman, but I will look into it. I plan to buy one in the States and have a friend bring it down next month.
I am still on the fence when it comes to the 61 key and the 71 key version. I kind of want weighted keys for the piano feel, but like I said the price difference is big enough to make me think twice. I have been practicing on the baby grand in the church lately, so I'm kind of used to the feel of that. Thanks for your input.

I would be inclined to check out Sweetwater music.

You'll have to scroll down and look around but they do have the Kronos.

How often do these break down? From where I live, it would be EXTREMEMLY difficult to send it out for repairs.

I never had to send a Korg back (I have 5 of them).

So, does anyone think this is a good or bad deal?

http://www.kraftmusic.com/catalog/keybo ... oduct=8855

It is pretty much exaclty what I would buy if I had to do it piece by piece.

yes, its a very good deal, however write all that down and go to www.zzounds.com and call them at 1-800-996-8637. Talk to Dan. He offered me $200 off of the Kronos 88 bringing it down to $3600. I would give him the link you gave us at kraft and see what he can do for you. They really do beat prices.
