load a midi file song onto triton le

Post by tonystock »

Hi

I wonder if anybody can give me a step by step guide as to the easiest way to load a midi file song onto my triton le.

I have downloaded the song (van halen - jump) to my computer form a midi filemusic site but that's as far as i've got.

I guess I need a midi to usb port or something.

My aim is just to get the keyboard part playing and also have a click which will be sent to our drummer in the band for live performance - any help on this would also be much appreciated.

thanks

You put it onto your smart media card and insert that into the Le. Then load the file from there.

Thanks for that...I'd better buy a media card then.

Unfortunately, the Smartmedia cards are very hard to come across these days. An alternative is to use an XD to SmartMedia adaptor, since the two standards are electrically identical.

They can still be found, a little pricey, around $42 for a 128MB, grab em while they are still out there.

People, these cards are still easy to obtain. Keep in mind also that you can transfer files from a PC and use that as your main storage. If you are only dealing with PCG and Midi an awful lot of info can go onto one 64 mb card.
Here is where you can find a whole range of card sizes and prices.
