Insert Effects

Post by Duke Riddlebauer »

Quick question...

In sequencer mode is it 12 insert effects per midi channel, or 12 insert effects for all sixteen midi channels?

In sequencer mode there are 12 insert effects which are routed by sequencer track, 2 MFX which can be added to any of the sequencer tracks and 2 final effects through which most everything will pass if you have it set up that way. In is the same as most Korg workstations just more of them and added flexibility (under most conditions).

Duke... it's neither... it's not 12 IFX per MIDI part (not channel), and also not 12 IFX for all sixteen MIDI part....

As JPROBERTLA said... in sequencer mode there are 12 insert effects (IFX) and 2 MFX, and three total effects.... shared by all 16 midi and 16 audio parts.

You can route any number of MIDI part or Audio track to any IFX.... You can route multiple MIDI or Audio parts to an IFX, but a MIDI or Audio Part can be routed to only one IFX...

So, you 'could' have all 16 midi parts routed to IFX1... etc.. or route 12 midi or audio tracks to there own IFXs...

You can route IFX to other IFXs... so you can have serial or parallel setups...

Don't forget there are individual 3 band EQs on each of 16 MIDI and Audio part... so you don't have to use an IFX for EQs, like you have to do on some other workstations...

KRONOS has the most flexible effects routing among all workstations... You can also save presets for each IFX type...
