Recording Levels a Bit Low
Sometimes when I record from my Korg Triton into CuBase, and then play my tracks back in a CD player or car stereo, the volume is extremely low. What should I be doing to get the volume recorded at the optimum levels? I have a Korg Triton Pro X. Thanks much.

Does cubase have a VU meter or equivalent? You want to be running consistently just under the "redline".
If the levels oare consistently low then it sounds like you need to push volume at the instrument or bring up gain in cubase - check the manual.
Compression will even out the overall level but can make things sound over-processed (less acoustic).
You may also want to take a look at what velocity curve you're using - the most natural responding one may not be the best for recording - you want something with a pretty high minimum velocity so that soft playing that's OK in headphones doesn't fall off the mix when you play with hotter instruments.
