Midi control ???

Post by Slabwax »

So I was over at the Moog forum and I saw this and thought I'd share. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWaNlcXuGmI
I'm thinking I might order one and test it on various percussion goodies. I use contact mics on lots of things, this might be just what the Dr. ordered. I'm thinking of using the wavedrum to control a moog minitur. Take a look and let me know what you all think.

hi slabwax
could be another good way to midify the WD.
(triggering a drumbrain is my solution,
but this only gives me very short signals)

The guitar to MIDI tracking works with a sine wave
to detect the frequency and to give out the MIDI note
The sustain gives you the note length ,
so the sitar sounds will work
but imo not all of the drum sounds .....(?)
(Expression pedal bending and sound shaping would kick )

dont you have direct audio in soundprocessing on the moog ?
do you run audio in + MIDI in at the same time ?
please tell us how it is working with Wd signals and also with piezo triggers

from the EHX forum about external FX and moog taurus (deep bass)

Hi WaterDrum,

I have yet to buy the midi converter, soon. At this time I've been midi-ed from Handsonic to Minitaur. I've found the Hpd-10 to be a great controller for the Moog. I'd like to pick up a drumkat to use with the Minitaur but after the success with the Roland I'm not in that much of a hurry.
Today I tried to take the audio out from the WD to the Minitaur audio in, no joy there unfortunately. I'll try it again in the morning. I've have never tried the WD to Little Phatty I'll try that soon.

I've had good luck with Mooger Foogers (my favorites are the MF-101 & 102), Tech 21 "Comtortion" and looper w/the WDs.
