Hi this is my first time on this forum and was hoping someone might be able to help. I have a Korg KP3 and on the back it says it is DC12V power yet my power adaptor says it is a 12V AC adaptor. Why is this? I am looking at compact ways of powering my setup using the T-Rex Fuel Tank so am trying to figure out what power source I should use without burning it.
And another quick question. Does anyone know what the actual power consumption of the KP3 is? I know the adaptors are 700mA but does it actually use much less than that?
Thanks!!
KAOSS KP3 Power. AC or DC?????

Personally.... I just use the recommended power supply
I know on mine it shows AC input as 120VAC and oputput is 12V DC.
That wall wart (as I like to call them) is more or less a transformeer that switches the alternating current to a direct current so as not to (in simple terms) turn your KP3 into slag.
DC power is similar to dry cell or alkaline battery power
AC is line power running through your home.
As far as power specs as long as the power source you intend to use has the same ring and pin (ring is negative, pin is positive) configutration ( some adapters will havd ring positive & pin negative so be very careful to check that) and runs the same power rating (12VDC @ 700mA) you should be good. Some electronic devices can be fuusy about deviating from what they are built to run on in some cases... so I would suggest making sure you power the KP3 with at a minimum the same ratings as it gets from the stock adapter.
