iMS-20 Able to record Synth pattern on top of drum pattern

Here is the rub: I want to create a synth pattern that lasts 32 steps while playing over a repeating drum pattern lasting 16 steps. If I try for a longer more drawn out keyboard pattern it stops and repeats itself after the 16th step (in accordance to the drum pattern). Other than "Live Recording" is there a way to do this? I'm sure it doesn't support Multitracks but that is almost what I am looking for.
