one stupid question about loading pcg file to classic

Post by arthurson »

hello everyone.

i just hard reset my classic, all program and combo is gone.

i download factory files from korg , there are three files, ksc, pcg, sng

i don't have floopy, so i use sendsx / midi-ox to load pcg to classic with usb-midi cable

classic then plays kinds of notes, yet those pro / com are still missing.

what program i should use to load default sound to classic with usb-midi cable ?

thx everyone.

is there writing on the touchscreen or is it missing? You may just need to adjust the contrast using the knob on the back.

If you are truly loading sounds after restating, then you should see a screen and it should give program name.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between initializing, which would give you a bad piano sound across all programs, and doing a restore, which would reset the factory patches. Initialize and restore are two very different functions.

touchscreen and lcd works as it should be.

i just reset my triton by 0+enter, thus i need to reload the original program and combo.

i don't have floopy drive in my pc, so i what can do is load pcg through midi.

You can load sounds by midi. use software like triton controller. send individual programs, combis to triton buffer. write to triton.

BTW, a USB floppy drive that would let you load .pcg's the old fashioned way is only about $25 from a Best Buy/online computer store.

It might be worth it to have a field useable back-up (floppy) for times when you might not have a computer handy.
