Kaossilator 2: The Higher Handbook

Post by mvnorwood »

As the manual with the KO2 is so poor I thought it might be a good idea to have one thread for all the tips, tricks, discoveries and shortcuts that people have started posting about the KO2.

Why don't we post everything here on one thread?

I have also set up a FB page for people to share their discoveries and creations. It can be found here:

https://www.facebook.com/Kaossilator2TheHigherHandbook

What do you all think? Does it make sense to have all the tips on one thread?

BTW I used the phrase 'The Higher Handbook' because 'The Missing Manual' is copyrighted.

A compilation of tips, tricks and discoveries has been started on the following link. The aim is to keep on adding to this document to create a central location for everything everyone contributes:

Good stuff - useful and will become more so. I am keen to know shortcuts, especially to the cross fader. The manual is very light.

I would oove to know if there is a way to stop loop bank playback whilst playing a sound on the touchpad. I can sort of do one with the cross fader, but that is not what I am after.

I dunno... "Higher Handbook" sounds Biblical to me...

might be worth adding some stuff about saving files and how they appear on PC (two banks even if one is blank) and what you can do in terms or renaming, playback on pc apps etc.

...and just in case you were wondering, "wechseldatenträger" means "removable media".

if you save your loops you should have a look at the last instrument that is displayed, because it is loaded too, when you reload your saved file.
if you press this instrument for example a sort of drumkit and let it pressed when you reload your saved file it is played instantly.
so you can load this file during the instrument / drumkit is played, it is just a little little break there, which you have to handle this break depends on the time loading your file you have to checkout how long it last, so you have the end of loading files together with the end / start of your sound / drumkitloop
just improvisate and test it is tricky, but you can handle it and you don´t have this total stop.
so somehow you can have a continious play and change your loops on the fly
i think (not tested yet) the arp on is saved aswell so checkitout :)

edith says:
the arp is stored too
so hold your arpsound and you have during the loading stopp an arpsound playing.
then you can hit you loopbanks for continuing with your reloaded loops

kyhl!

another edith:
if someone checks this out perhaps he could translate this foolish stuff into proper english please!
