Sorry, silly newbie question here, regarding R3.
I want to make a lead patch where a vibrato fades in as I hold a key down.
The simplest way would be if I could assign envelope 3 with a slow attack to control pitch modulation depth using the V patching, but pitch mod depth doesn't appear to be available as a destination.
Does anyone have a workaround to create a delayed vibrato?
Thanks,
gerard
Is there a way for Envelope 3 to control vibrato intensity?

Re: Is there a way for Envelope 3 to control vibrato intensi
Ah, OK, Modulation sequencer, faders making a rising ramp shape, smooth transitions, one shot, resolution 1/4 controlling v patch 6 intensity, v patch 6 set as LFO controlling overall pitch. That sort of does it.
Is there an easier way?

I think there's an actual variable called Vib Int or something...check to see if that's available as a destination in the virtual patching system and you should be able to patch it to EG3 exactly as you described. I can't guarentee it's in there though because I'm not by my R3 and not everything you'd expect can be mapped like that...
Well, Vib Int (presumably Vibrato Intensity) is the parameter on edit page 4 which lets you set a static pitch modulation amount, but infuriatingly it doesn't seem to be available as a v patch modulation destination. It's not even a Mod Seq destination - I thought for a minute you might have saved me a v patch slot to do something else with! Thanks for the thought though.

Vibrato intensity parameter affects the way that the modwheel affect vibrato.
On the Radias, I would use a virtual patch routing LFO2 to Pitch, and then another virtual patch to control the modulation depth of the first.
I gather that you can't do this on the R3. But as suggested above, you can use the modulation sequencer. I'm pretty sure you can modulate V.patch intensity with the modulation sequencer.

This might get you closer?
EDIT: oh you already made the sequencer solution. ummm.... well here's another
LFO2 by default is patched to the vibrato:
Page19, while you're working, switch it to Square, and KeySync it to Voice, and put it at ~2 Hz to start.
Page16,
EG3: you max Sustain, zero Delay, and tweak Attack to taste at ~60
Page25 Patch6,
Patch EG3 to LFO2Freq, and put P.Int as +ive, ~25
The problem here is if you've got your LFO2 doing something else. Otherwise, you can tweak the sound from a million different angles, including Page17- EG3 Lvl.
Hope that gets you there
