Pa3x: Delayed vocals via microphone

Post by Veren »

Hi All

Not sure if this is an actual issue or was just settings on the keyboard i tried out.

When using a microphone singing/speaking, the output via the PAAS is noticeably delayed (although a fraction of a second)

thanx

i noticed the same thing via phones. I think it is a problem with vocal processing board. it's slow processing. noticeable too on harmonizer chord mode. pa2x is very fast and precise on this mode. Very different from pa3x. I think korg can't do nothing about it. it is tc helicon problem. the voice live 2 is much faster than korg helicon. The algorithms are similar but not the hardware.

I have a Pa3X on order, and this problem could be a deal breaker for me. So I'm very interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing this problem with vocals via the keyboard. The dealer I've ordered from does have a 30-day return policy so this feature will be well tested by me. It'd better stack up.

Hey, all i can say is that is no reason to not buy the keyboard. it has lag.... but it is very very short. i cannot notice the lag when i'm singing live. Even with my little disappointment on vocal processor (after comparing it with the real voice live 2) it is still the best onboard vocal processor on a keyboard.

Hope you will join to the club soon....

Cheers.

Okay, thanks guys. I can't imagine Korg would put out a keyboard with such a critical (to me) shortcoming. A little reassurance goes a long way. Cheers!

Hi
Yes Giner, its true that the lag is not really noticeable when performing but when all is quiet and you go via the microphone, you will notice the lag.

What concerns me though is that some guys have not experienced this at all.... maybe Korg can shed some light here

Thanx guys

will they fix it

Post by duby2 »

yes there is noticeably delayed , I can not say what it is .. the voice live 2 in faster, and the auto tune on the pa3x will not turn off all the way also, and the preset work just halfway ,, there are a few thing that need to be fix in the vocal processing part of the keyboard ,, with perfect pitch it will make you crazy ,, and if you use it in stereo , wow , nuts ,,
but ,,it a great keyboard , and in a live performing the people will not notice the lag in you voice, but Veren make a good point why most other guys have not experienced this ,,

I have not noticed any delay on mine. Could it be your "Humanize" settings in your preset?. You have a choice of Tight, Natural, Relaxed etc. on the harmonies. Also check the Mixer FX tab where there are various delay settings on FX.
