PadKontrol Help!

Post by stealthygsr »

I have zero MIDI experience and have spent countless hours trying to get my padKontrol to work. So if someone could give me detailed dumbed down advice to make this thing work I would be very gracious. I cant get it to make any sounds. I have the driver installed, editer/librarian installed, and I'm using the USB cable to my Macbook Pro. I've got Presonus Studio One but also Garage Band of course. What am I missing? It seems channels arent set correctly or something but I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I've read the manual, and searched the internet and nothing has fixed my ignorance

Ok update for today. Using Studio One, I have found that when I hit a pad, the MIDI Monitor recognizes the PadKontrol, however, It is NOT playing the sounds. Anyone help?

I don't know anything about Garageband nor Studio, but you might have to check the mappings. By default the padkontrol is mapped with drum maps like PAD01 set to C2 and pad02 set to D2 and pad03 set to F#2 etc. If your instrument loaded and assigned to the padkontrol midi channel, check if that instrument has keys mapped full 7 octaves or if anything mapped in C2. Note that Padkontrol maps one octave lower than in software.

You might also try to change the pads port to port A or port B and see if anything happens.
