Very impressed with X5DR

Discussion relating to all other KORG synth related products that don’t have a dedicated section. For example, OASYS PCI, M1, N Series, 01W series, T series, and more…

Very impressed with X5DR

Post by iixorbiusii »

Needed to get a cheap, small MIDI module to attach to the underneath of my daughter's Technics KN6500 arranger to give her some 'better sounds' ! (the KN6500 has audio inputs for external modules).

I had a look at what I've got lying around gathering dust - a TX7 and a K1m, neither of which are particularly inspiring!

Then I came across a Korg X5DR on ebay for £50. Quickly checked some YouTube videos and realised it might be just what she needs, with 64 note polyphony.

Hit the Buy It Now button and now its here, I am really impressed with how much punch this little thing packs!

I'm not new to Korg - I bought an M1 and then a Trinity back in the day, and 5 years ago I got an M3. Still own all of these, but this little X5DR is really amazing value and holds its own against the M3 (to a degree).

If anyone is looking for a cheap source of great Korg sounds, with 64 note polyphony, I wholeheartedly recommend the X5DR.
:-)
