system startup failed, accessory disc 1

Post by eppe92 »

I have a problem. When I plug in a USB DVD drive and insert Kronos disc 1 and Kronos starts up, I get an error message.

"System startup failed, please disconnect any USB devices and resart!"

Anyone know what the problem is :?:

thank you!

it's possible that the Kronos does not support your DVD drive. What make/model is it? Is it bus powered or does it have a separate power cable?

I do not think that's the problem, because it can read from the disc when Kronos is on in disk mode.

Sorry for my bad english.

Hi

Are you attempting to start up the Kronos with the DVD drive connected and a DVD inserted. If so the keyboard is attempting to look for the preload file on the DVD Drive and not the Hard Drive.
Simply remove the DVD from the drive until it has booted up.

That is where the problem is, I want Kronos to boot from disk. But it does not work. I want to format the keyboard with the Accessory Kronos disc.

Hi

I have not had my Kronos very very long so still a lot to learn, however the manual states:

Insert Accessory Disc 1 into a connected USB DVD drive.
Turn off the KRONOS.Wait for about ten seconds, and then power‐on again.
Be sure to wait for about ten seconds before you turn on the power.

I cannot see it making a difference but it may be worth a try to insert the DVD before switching off KB.

Failing that you should contact Korg Customer support
