Loving my SV-1 over Komplete

Post by javaj »

Finally got my home studio setup enough to do some playing around with my Komplete. Loaded up Alicia's Keys- which I used to love- and just kept going back to the SV-1. Really loving the control I can get with the onboard controls and effects. Even the Scarbee stuff just sounded flat compared to the SV-1. Likely should upgrade my audio interface from the Audiobox USB- but then again- should just keep playing my SV-1 more.

I think of the biggest issues with AK was that I could never get the action of the SV-1 to really match AK. Drop the latency too low and get some pops in dense playing- and even then- just never felt dead on versus playing the onboard SV-1 sounds. I may just forgo keyboard emulations altogether and stick with synths stuff to complement the SV-1.

This.

Lounge Lizard I loved, B4 II, etc., are all great VSTs. Except for the latency. sometimes it's not a problem, but other times this would be enough for me to get up and do something else entirely. Even with a dedicated/discrete sound card and ASIO it wasn't enough. Even 50ms latency is sometimes too much.
I have gear - I think.

I just checked,

Yes - it's still there.
