Microkorg XL key replacement ¡¡¡HELP!!!

Post by patonico »

Hey Guys... I need a little advice. My 3 y.o. daughter spilled some juice on my microkorg xl. No problem, I cleaned everything and had the smart idea of drying everything with a hair-blow dryer... the result? some keys kinda melted and got a bit deformed
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and believe me, there's no such thing as a KORG SPARE AND REPAIR STORE here... so I came up with some sort of solution... I opened my Microkorg XL and checked everything was still working OK, and it did! I just have to replace the deformed keys. So, here's my idea... maybe I could buy a Korg MicroKey 37 (which I believe it uses the sames keys as the microkorg xl) take the keys out of it and put them on my XL.
Any comments on this will be more than welcome.
Thanks for reading and take care you all!

Nick
