Nano controllers not recognised in Win 7

Post by Fakecrusader »

Got a Keys 2 and Kontrol 2 today, neither worked. In my case, and I think a lot of others, it is due to the supposedly fixed 10-midiport limit in Windows.

I finally ran the Korg USB-Midi Device uninstaller (this is NOT a driver uninstaller, which is what you'd be expecting). When this opens up you can see all the ports that are installed to. I had a lot more than ten and the NanoKeys had been put onto port 11. When I removed the obsolete non-Korg drivers (you need to switch mode under the 'Option button) I was able to add the two controllers. They both now work fine. I also realised that some of my Line6 devices were not in the viable midi device list too - they should have shown up in my DAW settings as well.

For devices that cannot be removed by the Korg tool, here is an alternative means of doing the same thing.
