Geeze, there are some sick people about. I will never understand what makes people want to go on shooting rampages and why they so often choose to do it at a school. Surely Obama will address the gun laws now??

Might be controversial to say this and i know some people will go against me
but i call this the Fruit of the double edged sword called Western Democracy.
I still believe people should be under dictatorship. Humans are too stupid and
out of control to govern them selves under Democracy. And when someone
does this under the Democratic Law you send those people to vacation with
Gym, Pool, Tv and Food...no, you hang them in the Middle of the town.

No ammount of laws will stop this as we have already witnessed. More laws on guns have so far only increased shootings. It is about time more teachers carried weapons and finally put an end to these horrible shootings. A few teachers in each school armed and proficient with guns is the only and I mean the ONLY way this can be stopped. Hell, just look at the guy in China who killed twenty with a knife just a couple of days ago.
Gun laws make people feel warm and cozy but do zero to stop the crimes. Taking the shooter out at the first chance available will certainly reduce these shootings , sadly however it may not be possible to eliminate them.

Sadly, few will listen to the voices of reason when the vortex of horror is blowing outside the window. It's already starting, and the sane can't out-shout the screaming heads.csteen wrote:No ammount of laws will stop this as we have already witnessed. We still have to admit though, no one with a knife can take down 20-30
people in a matter of minutes even seconds...

You have missed the point then.Where does it end , banning guns, knifes and of course the most deadly of all, the dreaded automobile. If you truly want to be protected then we must protect ourselves, as criminal minds will do criminal things as you can well see here. The one and ONLY thing that could have stopped this before that many lives was taken would be to take the shooter out prior to his rampage or at least prior to it going this far. Drugs are illegal but people still do them. It is illegal to drink and drive and how is that working for us??? Pass all of the laws you like and you will still have the same result, I am sorry to say but it is just a fact we have to deal with.BasariStudios wrote:We still have to admit though, no one with a knife can take down 20-30

Well, i don't want to judge the laws of my americans neighbors, but if the weapon that was used today has been acquired legally, i wouldn't want to be the salesperson who sold it. I can, to a certain extent, understand to let people have a weapon for auto-defense but a weapon that can kill 20 kids and 6 adults in a matter of minutes is hardly an instrument for auto-defense, imho. If those kind of weapons are sold legally, that is one place to start and change some laws.

Knowledge is your friend . You can kill even more people than this with most any gun sold on todays market with the exception of single shot weapons which hardly classify them as anything worthy of self defence.blinkofanI wrote: I can, to a certain extent, understand to let people have a weapon for auto-defense but a weapon that can kill 20 kids and 6 adults in a matter of minutes is hardly an instrument for auto-defense, imho. Yes this is a horrible thing that happened but making more laws and restricting law abiding citizens freedom to protect themselves from the people like this who wish them harm does absolutely nothing in the way of preventing seens like this as we are all now well aware.
On the contrary this is an excellent example of why more people should carry protection . You sure can bet if the parents of those who died had the chance to protect them they would have, at least if they are even half a human being.
There have been semi and automatic guns with us for a very long time. Not many went around killing sprees with them or with bombs or anything else. Perhaps it is time to focus on the real problems and not make them up as we go along so we might FEEL GOOD.
Start with over medication with pchycotropic drugs of our youth and adults alike and go from there.

Since the main-stream media doesn't like this fact, you won't hear about it ever from them. But states with concealed carry laws have far lower crime rates than states that attempt to limit the ability to carry weapons:
http://www.humanevents.com/2009/01/26/c ... fe-savers/
Quote: "Statistics from the FBI’s Uniformed Crime Report of 2007 show that states with right-to-carry laws have a 30% lower homicide rate, 46% lower robbery, and 12% lower aggravated assault rate and a 22% lower overall violent crime rate than do states without such laws. That is why more and more states have passed right-to-carry laws over the past decade."
Quote: "...since adopting a concealed carry law Florida’s total violent crime rate has dropped 32% and its homicide rate has dropped 58%. Floridians, except for criminals, are safer due to this law. And Florida is not alone. Texas’ violent crime rate has dropped 20% and homicide rate has dropped 31%, since enactment of its 1996 carry law."
Quote: "In research sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, in which almost 2,000 felons were interviewed, 34% of felons said they had been “scared off, shot at, wounded or captured by an armed victim" and 40% of these criminals admitted that they had been deterred from committing a crime out of fear that the potential victim was armed."

This is really a complicated issue to me:
1. Being free to carry a gun leads to THIS...
2. On the other hand if someone else around had a gun would shoot him
before he killed all these people...
So its a messed up issue...to have or not to have.

I am free to carry but you do not see me in the headlines and if you do it would go something like this , Man From Korg Forums Saves his Life and Off's Lunatic.BasariStudios wrote:This is really a complicated issue to me:

I do not disagree with you, you are right but it is still more complicated then
that...best would be noone to carry a gun, the lunatic or the good person but
