Very disappointed in loss of functionality in NanoKONTROL 2
I've been a user of the nanokontrol since 2008. I have two units, finally one of them broke (I think the USB connection has failed). For an item that cheap I'm not complaining so much, I play live every weekend and they have held up exceptionally well over the years. However I am incredibly disappointed that the original nano series has been discontinued in favour of the new "improved" 2. I bought the nanoKontrol 2 last week and was exceptionally disappointed in the loss of the ninth fader group, scenes access and midi attack/release on the buttons - all of which are an integral part of my usage of the device. Upgrades are supposed to keep existing features and where necessary improve and add to them, not remove them completely. I'm also not happy with the build quality - while the knobs are indeed a little smoother and handle slightly better, I cannot say the same for the faders. Last night during my live performance no less than six of the faders popped off within 2 minutes of use! Very shoddy work on those. I will be returning my unit on monday and searching for a second hand version one on elsewhere.. Please Korg, when you are designing the next version -add back in the features you took out, and make sure to maintain the build quality!
