Korg R3 right audio channel dead

Post by stuvsthekorg »

My right headphone channel and also line out are dead, ive reset to factory but no joy so it has to be hardware issues. Checked loads of threads online and can see this is a common?!?

What a total shame, really makes me question Korgs build quality! What can i do to fix it myself?

Kills the fun and some. :(

It is pretty common for one of the channels on an r3 to crackle, pop or go out entirely. There's a ribbon cable inside that goes between the two boards, it seems to be subject to interference or shorting. I had the problem, moved the cable, tried again and it was fixed. The cable goes from front to back on one side of the board. You can find photographs of this online see http://jahgee.xanga.com/724820233/korg- ... put-works/
