Is Replacing Triton LE Right Button Assembly Difficult?

Post by bchorng »

Hi all, my Triton LE 61 has 2 bad buttons. One is bank B selection button, the other one is the "Enter" button. The former basically does not respond. Occasionally, it would, after you try several times. The latter is physically stuck and trapped under the shell and I simply could not get it out.

I saw on ebay that there are right button assembly unit available for about $30.

Has anybody done this task before? How difficult is it to replace the entire right assembly yourself? Is it something an average user can perform? Is it just a matter of patience of does it require some special techniques?

As a side note, I opened the back plate once trying to correct the stuck "enter" button, but found that there is no clear access to it unless I pull out layers of parts and boards, so I backed out.

Thanks in advance!
