Stevie Wonder / 70's Funk Sounds

Post by podmed2 »

I am trying to set up my Kronos for our band's cover songs.
The funk tunes we cover are "Superstition" by Stevie, and "Play that Funky Music."
Both are crowd Favs.
I was trying to get a Combi of: Clav on low keys, and Horns on the higher keys. Perhaps some cool samples somewhere - triggered by velocity.
Anyone care to share what they have used for this type of genre?
Thanks!

Get Burningbusch's free clavinet userbank. I think his site is kronosblog.com or something.

You might use a Sforzando Brass (SFZ) patch. They have the dynamics that helps with the realism vs. a static patch. Plus they have a strong initial attack.

Were I to program a Superstition patch it would be your clav on the left and a Sfz Brass on the right :)

Any news on your clav collection? You mentioned a while ago that it would become available through Korg?
