How to clean surface of Triton Studio

Post by EdK »

Hello!!

Has anyone found a good way to clean the surface of a Triton Studio?

I can't seem to find anything that works without running the risk of damaging the silver surface.

Thanks! Ed

I saw on another forum, a guy who used Servisol foam cleanser, as advised by his synth tech. An anti static cleaner, thus doesn't attract dust.

Thanks. I'll look into it.

I hope the synth tech was referring to a Triton. IMO it has an unusual surface and I just want to be careful.

I have an old M1 and it basically looks like a semi-gloos black paint and flaking off in places (not severa at all considering its age). But the Triton seem to has some sort of a textured paint. The best I can describe it is sort of like superfine sandpaper.

Basically the surface just has a buildup of skin oils like an automobile steering wheel gets.

For anyone that is interested, I found a way to clean the surface of the Triton Studio.

Just use Mr.Clean Magic Eraser. Make sure the eraser is only damp so there is no water dripping from it when cleaning the surface. Also have a damp paper towel to remove the loosened dirt.

The printing on the surface is not affected.

It's a slow process but it works!!

If you're just dusting a microfiber cloth works best imo, even if it catches a little...don't put too much pressure.

Anything other than that I would just use a lightly dampened corner of the microfiber with bottled water and don't press down hard.

Thanks for adding that tip. That's what I do for just light cleaning.

It's the finger oil buildup that's very hard to get off.
I failed to mention that's when I use the Magic Eraser. Of course, not something you want to do regularly.
