Volume knob and slider scratching on KP3

Post by Corbytender »

I've had the KP3 for about 3 years now, but the volume knob and slider recent started making a scratching noise when used. I'm assuming this is from dust build-up... Anyone else experience this problem? Any ideas on how to clean it?

It could be dust or it could also be oxidation. Try using compressed air to blow out any dust. If that doesn't work you could try a chemical cleaning product designed for potentiometers.

Here's a link with more information.

Thanks for the reply, I think a rigorous air dusting is in order. If that doesn't help, I'll probably take it to someone who knows what they're doing - the KP3 is essential in my setup, I don't wanna muck it up even worse.

It isn't just dust, often oxidisation as well.

Got any fader lube? That could sort it.
