Gah. You're right, I did not see that before posting. My apologies - not a great way to make an entrance.

I have to agree with MarPabl on gthis one, but I am glad I got to hear about it. Of course I am sure you would make it to Keyboard Magazine sooner or later, guess we just got the jump on it. Submit them a unit for review so we can get some hands-on reviews!

Yeah, sorry, I just finished a coding blitz and got over-excited. It won't happen again. BTW, it was reviewed in Keyboard Magazine in October 2011. At that time it only supported Nord keyboards.

I have tested and now use the Ocean Beach controller with my Kronos for playing combinations made with dual manual organ. Made a combi with CX3 organs on timbre 1 and 2 and play upper manual on my Kronos 61 (timbre 1) and lower manual on my 88 keys piano (timbre 2). The OB drawbar controller has a button to switch between drawbar control of upper and lower manual (a LED makes it easy to see if I am controlling upper or lower manual).

Originally I found it troublesome to switch the Kronos faders between timbre/track level control and tone adjustment (drawbar mode) and also between upper and lower drawbars when playing live. If the combi also had more timbres than the organ timbres it was a big chance I ended up to adjust the timbre levels instead of pulling the drawbars - distastrous in a live gig situation. The OB drawbar controller controls the drawbars independent of the current Kronos control surface assignment and eliminates this problem.

It's a nice solution for those who like to do piano combined with organ. Before the firmware update I was messing around with a Voce Drawbar controller combined with a Midi Event Processor from Midi Solutions which meant four devices (both required external psu's). I already had the OB controller and was using it with my Nord Stage 2 and the firmware update to control the Kronos was very welcome.

The next thing I hope for is an update of the CX3 engine, currently it is OK but some steps behind the top of line clonewheels of today. The Kronos61 on top of a 88 keys controller is a much more flexible solution than having a dedicated clonewheel on top.
