Are the MicroX / X50 software editors intuitive?

Post by stikygum »

I had a MicroX a couple years ago and while I liked the sound of it, I didn't like editing it from it's hardware front panel. I never tried using the plugin editor though. I'm wondering if the plugin editor is intuitive and pretty easy to edit with. Is there any problems with these editors? I thought I remember reading something about the edits not taking effect immediately or something along those lines. I was possibly thinking about trying out the MicroX again with the editor, but am not sure.

Also can you make user patterns for the Arp or do you have to use the preset Arp patterns?

The X50 editor is only "intuitive" if you have a very clear understanding of how the sound engine is laid out. There's a LOT to learn.

Yes, you can create your own user ARP patterns, but you have to edit them by hand (i.e. you can't "record" them in real time).
