MPD24 & Electribe ESX midi question

Post by apocalypso »

I try to assing sliders of the MPD24 to FX 1,2,3 edit knobs for a quicker edit while playing with the pads.

On the electribe all of those controls are assign to CC#
FX1 edit1 #93, edit2 #94
FX2 edit1 #95, edit2 #96
FX3 edit1 #25, edit2 #26

i manage to map those to the MPD24 Sliders but nothing appen!!!! Why?
MPD24 Pads works perfectly but not the sliders and infinite knobs

electribe: global channel 10
MPD24: Channel 10

Is there something i'm missing?
Thanks for any help

Hit the "Global" button under the LCD screen, and with that lit hold SHIFT and hit the key button with the sub-title "MIDI Utility" then hit that same key again when the screen says "MIDIfilt"...now make sure there's an O under the "C" and save this setting. This will allow Control Changes (the pots and sliders) to talk with your 'tribe.

PCEN
oooo

It is already setup like this (still not work)
but thanks i understand the midi filter now.

I heard about msb/lsb messages (CC#=value+1 instead of fixed value) is there something like that is happening?
Do Akai MPD24 send those message or is it electribe who is expecting them?
or may be i'm totally wrong and should go watch TV instead of doing music!!!!

I read the manual & FX Buttons are associated with Keyboard Part 1 Midi Channel so i change it on the MPD24 and it's working. But the pads also change to the Keyboard Channel (4) and my drums are on Channel 10.....mmmmmmm

Now i go on the MPD User Manual (RTFM!!!) :-)

The Ideal Goal is to have Drum associated to pads,
Sliders to levels of each drums and
Rotary buttons to FX1,2,3 edit 1&2
