Importing Other Drum Track Patterns into Krome User Area

Post by Pablocruz »

Is it possible to import drum track patterns from other Korg platforms (or other manufacturers if possible) directly into the User Drum Pattern Area.

I'm disappointed with the pattern selections provided on the Krome, in that they are very specialized and there are very few basic patterns (such as a Bossa or Swing) that can be used for a wide variety of songs. Lacking these severely limits my use of the Krome as a performing instrument.

I have MP3 recordings of several patterns that I've used in the past. I lack experience in creating drum tracks to emulate those patterns and would be more than happy to compensate anyone to recreate them in Krome format. Contact me by private message if interested.

Thanks in advance!

Pablo, my only experience (bad by the way) in that area was loading an Yamaha MIDI file (XG format) into my Krome. The drums track was completely trash. It seems same drums notes has different sound between Korg and Yamaha. Other XG MIDI file worked well.

I recommend you load your drum patterns in your Krome and check what happen. Some may work, some not.

I want to test my PSR-S910 patterns in Krome. I'll share with you the results.

If you load standard midi drum files and use a general midi kit, things should be fine, however if your playing a standard midi file using a korg mapped kit then you need to increase the shift parameter to +12 so the drum maps match up it works like a charm on the other korg boards and I am guessing it will for krome as well. Give it a shot.
