New MultiTrack Recorders

Post by KJandKT »

Any good quality ones out there or about to be released like the DM3200. I would like something new. The Tascam DM24 looks great except there is no Digital in/out and you can't use compression on individual channels at mixdown.

Anybody know of anything good?

God bless and thanks!

It seems that no one is making these kind of all in one recorders any more because, honestly, it's much cheaper and more flexible to get a laptop and your choice of DAW software and have 1000 times the power and flexibility! Think about Logic Pro X with your choice of a Macbook Pro and suitable usb/firewire interface!

Saying that, if you're ultimately after replacing your D3200, why not look at another older unit that has seperate dynamics on each channel like the Yamaha AW2400 or the Roland VS2480/VS2400/VS2000 etc. Even a Korg D32XD would be great although you don't have separate dynamics on each channel unless you splurge on the analog compressor board and even then it's not the same. The D32XD does have up to 24 seperate fx insert slots which sort of makes up for this limitation but if you where happy with your D3200, the D32XD should be great!
