MP3 and Transpose
Quick questions:
Does the PA3X have the ability to transpose an MP3?
If so, can it be saved as a new file?
I didn't find the answer clearly in the bits of the manual I have read?
If not does anyone know of any freebie software that could do this job. I don't want to buy as I only need one song converted.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Yes & No
Transpose works fine - saving as new file not possible.
I am sure there is software to do it - there was an old package "Adobe Audition" which does it perfectly.
Cheers

Hi JohnIf you have it in Songbook you can automatically transpose it under Book Edit 2.
I think calaf was actually wanting to save a transposed MP3 as a new MP3 file (unless I have misunderstood).

Re: MP3 and Transpose
Transposing an audio file is a little tricky, because everything (including drums and non-pitched instruments get transposed. If you already have a recording software, you can transpose the audio first. Then, playback the file and record the output of the keyboard in your DAW.calaf wrote:Quick questions:

This is what I came across....
I came across "Transposr", link at bottom of post.
An online resource that seems to have done a reasonably decent job.
Thanks to all who have offered suggestions and comment.

hmm, I don't know why I have a strange feeling about this, but try it and let us know.calaf wrote:I came across "Transposr", link at bottom of post.

If it's only one song that you want to transpose, i'll help you with it.

I take your point about the difficulties that could be encountered with the percussion/drums/non pitched instruments. Fortunately, this track is a simple arrangement with a limited range of voices.
For that it seems to have come out OK. I will have another try with a more complex arrangement and see h=what happens with that!
As ever, members of the Forum show that generosity of spirit that means, while I don't often post things, I know that when I need to I can gain consistently good advice and support.
Thanks again.
