Dog Racing Music

Post by Pincho Paxton »

I have a Korg M50, and I make computer games. So I originally bought the keyboard to make music for my games. I'm usually Ok at making my music, but I am stuck on the music for my current project which is a Greyhound Racing Game.

I need sort of sporty, fast action music. I'm not good at this sort of thing.

If anybody has any music which would seem suitable maybe you could post it for me to use.

Thanks!

Hi Pincho,

Maybe you could link a video of the game play since such music should be dependent of the game context athmosphere and tempo.

If you haven't ever, you could attend a greyhound race - see the event up close and personal, perhaps the atmosphere could help you get a sense of the energy involved?

Also, there's plenty of oldschool cartoons (think Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, etc) from the 50s and 60s that have race scenes - check them out, might give you some ideas, too.

Also, just off the top of my head, wouldn't whole tone scales work well for race music?

Well here's a link to the game in progress. It's not ready for a video yet. The last page of the Work In Progress shows the dog running properly.

It's a stadium, and hopefully will look like a real race when it is finished. So if you watch a real race video...

That's the kind of feel of it.
