how do you rename a patch?
just got my King Korg the other day.
working on making some custom sounds.
can't seem to figure out how to rename the TITLE of the patch.
looked on this Forum, could not find anything.
also looked in the manual and Korg site.
sure it's something simple, just not finding it.
anyone got this?
thanks!

Do you want to rename your own patches or factory patches?
Before you can overwrite the latter, you must change the global setting concerning this option.
Else renaming just works like naming - see manual.

niknak, it's better to clarify here than in PMs. This way others with the same problem can profit.
So if your global settings allow overwriting, and this can't be the problem:
When you simply follow the manual instruction for naming (renaming is essentially the same), please describe step by step what you do, and at which point this does not work for you.

It is right on page 3, and also can easily be found with a search for "name" in the pdf, even if you didn't notice it.

Checking the basics yourself before asking here is always a good idea.

Renaming favorite patches independently from factory patches
jimknopf,
In your first response you alluded to the fact that one could edit the factory patches and favorite patches independently. After perusing the manual I've not been able to find any information on that. Would you mind clarifying what you meant or how one might go about doing that?
Thanks so much!

I have not said anything about favorite patches. I talked about factory patches and user patches (above program number 200).
The only difference between the latter two is that the factory patches are write protected by default, and you can change that in global settings and then edit and save them just as your user patches.

I hope it can be done with PCG Tools in time too
