Pulse Width Knob On 1st VCO Stops @ 70%

Post by thinksyncopated »

Hello All,

Just received my MS-20 Mini. Besides obvious noise issues (esp. on the triangle wave / with LPF and no Peak), I'm enjoying it.

However, I noticed that when I set the first VCO to Pulse Width, the Wave From knob cuts from a narrow pulse, to nothing, at around 70% turned clockwise, or the 7th tick.

Now, I know that the sound will eventually cut out, as the ratio of the pulse becomes 0:100, but I thought I would have control through the pot's range.

Is my unit faulty, or is this characteristic of all Mini's / original.

Curious, as it makes manual PWM more difficult, having to be conscious of not crossing the 70% line, or else, the VCO disappears.

Thanks all!

The pulse width mod thing is normal for the ms20. No fault. You're not the first one to question it.

You're "Obvious noise issue" shouldn't really be an issue. Set the master volume at about 5 or 6, set one of the oscillators (Or both) near the high end.
