Best midi controler for Kronos.
What is the best midi controler for kronos? I've seen stuff like the m-audio Axiom, novation launchekey, logicon 5 etc.
Which controler has the best keyboard? Like triton orso would be great.
I have noticed that with a k73 it's a must have to play organs, synth etc.
Oh, must have USB...

I like the Keybed on my novation sl49mkii, I find it close to the x61 but not identical in feel, but all in all I am happy with it. I have only just started getting it to work with my computer and maschine. I have not tried connecting it to the Kronos yet but I see no reason it wouldn't work, yet. I have not created any kind of mapping for it yet but am thinking it may be nice to assign karma to its control surface or maybe basic parameters for tweaking combis or programs so that everything I want to tweak is available right away without switching between KARMA and the control surface for the engine running at the time. I will see. I haven't tried yet as this was supposed to be a light weight alternative to taking the expensive Kronos on the road with me while I travel for work.
Might be a board to look into though for your purposes there is a 25 and 61 key version. I also believe it was listed in the USB controllers thread for Kronos but you should double check that because Incan not remember who used it or if it worked for them with the Kronos.

Good point - best controller for my Kronos is the Behringer FCB1010SanderXpander wrote:Sorry to be short, it was just a quip to comment that you haven't really specified a budget or any other demands. Both the Voyager and the M3 (and the K61) have excellent keybeds but I'm sure that's not what you're looking for. What do you want to spend and which features are necessary for you?
I agree !!! - The FCB1010 is a great piece !!!ed_f wrote:Good point - best controller for my Kronos is the Behringer FCB1010SanderXpander wrote:Sorry to be short, it was just a quip to comment that you haven't really specified a budget or any other demands. I used my Novation Ultranova for a short while with the Kronos 73. Worked very well.
But I would recommend: http://www.thomann.de/gb/novation_remote_61_sl_mkii.htm Novation Remote 61 SL MKII.
Has the best responding keybed of all MIDI controlers I tried so far.
I like keybeds like the Roland JX-305.
You may also try the Korg Microkeys (25,49,61) if you want something small without tons of controlers.

Budget isn't the most important at this point. I want a goof controller, that's all. Think price upto a $400/€450 max..SanderXpander wrote:Sorry to be short, it was just a quip to comment that you haven't really specified a budget or any other demands. I'm actually thinking of picking up an Alesis Q88, which is basically a Keystation 88es, but in black. Anybody know if I would need the power supply, which is not included with the Q88, or would USB from the Kronos power the Q88? And would I also need to use a midi cable or would the data be transferred through USB? Sorry for the newbie questions.

I like the built-in keybed and controls on the Kronos 88 itself!

Now I understand. I'm a pianist (not an organist), so the keybed suits me perfectly.Fopperr wrote:I like the keybed from the kronos 73 also, but not for organ/synth etc. For piano/rhodes it's really great!PianoManChuck wrote:I like the built-in keybed and controls on the Kronos 88 itself!
