Annoying "pop" sound when recording midi to comput
Maybe Rick would have a good quick answer as he has sound engineer experience. I record from my PA 600 to my computer using Audacity. I have Audacity on pause while I set the record levels. I then hit record and then start the midi file playing. After file is recorded to an MP3 file, I then record it to a CD. When recording onto a CD I have a loud pop noise on the CD at the start of each song. Everything sounds great except for that pop. Thanks for your response!

If the start of the recorded audio waveform is not at zero-crossing, you might get a 'pop' in playback on digital systems. Did you edit the recording in Audacity to trim the beginning of the file?Jerry Iverson wrote:Maybe Rick would have a good quick answer as he has sound engineer experience. Also, if you clipped the audio with too much gain you can get pops in playback.

One other possibility is you have a DC offset in the one or both channels. Check this page from the Audacity Wiki ...

If you send me a link to your recording I could take a look at it too see what the issue might be.
