KOrg PA 900 Transpose issue
Last month I was having a problem with getting the PA600 to transpose with my digitech vocalist. I sent the following note out to the forum.
> I'm trying to use an external vocal harmonizer with my PA600, but am having problems.
> It works okay as long as I don't transpose the PA600. If I transpose
> the keyboard, the raw (un-transposed) notes are still sent to the

I got a few responses back but in the end the Korg support guys sent it to Korg Italy for a response. And I've never heard back.
So I sold the 600 to someone and am now considering the PA900. So the same question applies to the 900. Has anyone had a similar problem with the 900? They are not on the market in the US yet so I have some time to get some responses. Thanks all. Chuck

This may answer your question ...
Bug fixes in latest PA900 OS Update 1.01
Various Modes
(Harmony) After stopping the Style or a Song, turning the Split on/off, or
choosing a different Chord Scanning mode, the first chord played after
the change was not sent to the Voice Processor’s Harmonizer, unless it
was different than the chord already in memory.
Style Play Mode
(Style and Performance Select) When choosing a Performance with the
Style Change option activated, the wrong Style LED could be switched
on when the Style was automatically selected by the Performance.
Song Play Mode
(MP3, Tempo, Master Transpose) If Master Transpose was changed, any
Tempo change to an MP3 Song was reset (but the Tempo set by the user
was still shown in the display).
Global Mode
(MIDI) Master Transpose was not applied to notes sent over the special
Chord MIDI channels.
Media Mode
(USB) Sometimes, the Pa900 internal storage device could not be
unmounted properly from the Mac’s Finder (with Mac OS X prior to
version 10.7.5).

Try getting a hold of Frank at http://www.audioworksct.com/ - It will be worth the call.

Updating the OS is a piece of cake. Just takes a couple minutes and an SD memory card.Chuck wrote:Thanks Rick. I am going to wait one more week in hopes that I can get one with the new update already installed, but I will give Frank a call. Keep playing music! Chuck

Version 1.00 allows the use of 2 input sources at the same time such as mic and audio. If you update to v1.01 this is not longer an option. Here is a post from a vendor who emailed Italy and got this response.
I received a reply this morning from Korg Italy.
It was explained to me that because the owners manual on page 264 says that there are only two options:
1) mic input from L and R is disabled
2) left and right aux inputs for line level only
Korg Japan had asked the Italian team to upgrade the software so that it only does what the owners manual states.
Version 1.0 does allow the use of mic and aux input at the same time but version 1.01 changes this to what the manual says it should do.
I have requested back to Italy that they communicate with Japan and put this option back in the next software revision along with an addendum to the owners manual which would make everybody happy.
So, any of you with version 1.0 can use both inputs and if you've made a change, as I did, it's gone!
Hope this helps everyone.

Bill,
I'am still waiting for the FedEx guy. I'll try the music stand when it arrives and let you know. Did you see the post about doing or not doing the update? One of the things the v1.01 OS update does is take away the possibility of using two audio input sources at the same time.
I'am not going to install the 1.01 update unless I run into problems with the v1.00 OS.
