An international music project
Here's the video:

It's a medley of 5 Pop Persian songs....I wrote the score and sent them out to musicians all over the place. Each recorded their part with Cellphones, Cameras or whatever and e-mailed them back to me. I wasn't concerned with the sonic quality at all. Only a few of the participants know each other in real life....It was definitely a fun project and I got to meet some new online musician friends. I had to remove a truck load of background noise from tracks to make them useable though! But still it was fun.

Though it is not my kind of music, I must admit you've done a superb work.
I liked the joy in the performers' faces, it looks like they all had a lot fun and pleasure recording it.
And by the way, did you all sing or play according to a synchronized tempo or you had to do some time-stretching when putting all the tracks together?
regards,
Michal

yeah, it was a lot of fun. Actually, I created multiple backing tracks so everybody would perform in time. At the end there was no need for time-stretching or anything...Just had to remove a lot of background noise, michagi wrote:Though it is not my kind of music, I must admit you've done a superb work.

Anyway, I didn't know cellphone and camera recordings are so easy to synchronize - though it is all digital work.Assyrianpianist wrote: yeah, it was a lot of fun. Such devices were not supposed to be a music studio gear, were they? Maybe one day we can have a Pa3x type of arranger in a cellphone...

I think you misunderstood what I meant by saying Camera or Cellphones being used as a recording device.
They received the backing track and score from me. Then they used a laptop or some kind of mp3 player device to playback the backing track, but they monitored it using a headphone/earphone so they recording device would only capture the sound of their solo performance.
To capture their performance (Audio and Video) most people did not have access to proper recording gear, so they just used an iPhone or consumer graded Camera to record both audio and video. Then each person sent me back only their individual performance. I put them all together on my workstation, and since they all had played along a backing track everything was in sync tempo wise.
Only a few owned proper recording gears. For the rest, I didn't want them to go to a recording studio since it was only a fun project.
