Korg Mono/Poly Modifications

Post by chipaudette »

In addition to modifying my Korg Polysix (which is a different thread), I also like to do modifications on my Korg Mono/Poly. In both cases, the synths were in pretty bad condition when I got them, so they required a bit of repair. This makes me feel like I have "permission" to hack these otherwise great synths.

For the Mono/Poly, my favorite modification so far is the addition of a sample-and-hold circuit to the Modulation Generator, which is an idea and circuit that I stole from The Old Crow. The sample and hold enables the Mono/Poly to do that great bubbly resonating filter sound. I think that it's a lot of fun.

What modifications have you all done to your Mono/Poly?

Here's another mod for the Mono/Poly. It's the "sizzle mod" for those who like a little extra buzz on their sound...

Here's the one with the audio demo:

A description of the hack itself is at:

Enjoy!
