As probably many of you know, I now have an iPad that I want to use with my Kronos. I connected the 2 of them up wit the usb to lightning cable but of course I couldn't get sound from my iPad when I had my Samplewiz app up. I wasn't expecting it to work..

Is there a quick fix or do I have to go the midi route?

Have you tried using Audiobus in order to play multiple apps together? The use of something called Midibridge is another possibility for syncing with kronos.

I know if I want to control my ipad apps from my M50 I just connect the usb from the M50 into the ipad with the lightening connecter using the camera connection kit and then go into sequencer mode and set the desired track to ext on the M50.

No, not yet but I am aware of Audiobus. I haven't heard of Midibridge but it might be something that could work for me.

Basically what I want to do is use my iPad the same way other people use their computer as a multi-track recorder. I want to be able to record my band. Drums, bass, guitars, and keys. I would like to be able to record must of these at the same time live off of the floor with a click track running through the headphones. I also want to record midi data while I am playing my keyboards.

I don't really see why this should be all that difficult. My iPad is the newest version out there with a 128 gig drive. Granted I won't have as big a video monitor as people with a dedicated system, but there is no reason at all that I should not be able to do what I want with this piece of gear.

I'm quite okay with my drummer using an electronic kit. In a lot of cases they are easier to deal with and since I live in an apartment, well, you know

I have had my eye on a Griffin StudioConnect with Lightning interface. It's not available yet but should be soon. There are also some others to choose from.

Interesting. I like the price but the 1/8th inch connectors are certainly not pro. At least it 's a sign of things to come. I also like the fact that it holds the iPad and has a dock.

thanks Eagle, this looks like something I could really make good use of and it will work with my ipad mini. I can't wait for it's release date.

This should work.

Have you set up the USB audio in on the Kronos?

Do I have to have anything set up on my iPad? I'm just wondering how you have it all routed together?

You have to route the USB inputs of the Kronos to L/R in the global/audio screen.
