korg trinity repair £ estimation for faulty discdrive

anyone know likely cost of repair at korg uk? (Im thinking of cutting my losses and selling it as it is)

whats wrong with it

korg charge £60 for diagnostic if you decide not to have work done by them

disc drive doesnt work, makes a whirring noise but nothing happens

how much is the trinity worth selling with this problem? (UK estimate)

Hello,

You can find a replacement disk at eBay (around 10-20 EUR). It is quite easy to replace it, you only need patience to remove all screws on the back, then change it.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago buying 2 standard floppy disk drives in a shop for 5 eur (both)...I have one brand new unused in case the one I replaced will stop working.

It is a very straighforward job :)

depending on what model you have they will still sell £150-250 even with faulty drive

but yes a nos drive will set you back £5-15
