Hello,

Is it possible to program The Doors song Touch Me on Korg Kronos? All horn sections, keyboard section, bass section but without drums.
If yes, how?

Yes.

By analyzing the song, figuring out each part, and recording them one at a time onto different tracks of the sequencer. How else?

I don't understand your question. Do you have a Kronos? Have you ever used a workstation?

You record each part individually, one track at a time. When you playback the sequence, it plays all the parts together.

Yes I have a Kronos and yes I have used workstation.

I am playing in the bend and I would like to play that song LIVE. When I am playing bass live with my left hand and with my right hand live melody, at the same time horns should jump in. Please listen the song first....

I've heard the song. The fact is, the way you stated this previously, you didn't say anything about playing it live. Why didn't you say that first?

If you want to do it live and you "need more hands", then your only choice is to program up a sequence and play along with it, or perhaps try to use RPPR to trigger additional phrases, or perhaps make samples of the horn lines and trigger them at the correct times.

As long as you figure you can physically play the parts all you need is to set up a few splits and layers. RPPR is a good choice for triggering phrases but it will unfortunately limit your bass hand somewhat as it "cuts off" a few octaves on the left hand side by design.

Yes, I am using RPPR pattern and I assigned the C#2 key for the horn section. But, I can not play live bass part below C#2?! Being said that, when I would like to play C chord, starting on C2, there is no sound. And other chords below C2 - no sound.

Is there any other way so when I am playing the bass lines live with my left hand and with my right hand live melody, at the same time horns sections can jump in?

What size. Kronos are you plying?if you are using an 88 key model, you might be able to re-pitch parts. I often use velocity mod to get other parts in when I want them. The trick part is that you have to be I very careful that you don't play too hard in the parts that you don't want the horns.

I'd start with 3 zones:

1. Bass

2. Organ

3. Organ + Horns

Allow damper to only work on zone 2, disable for the other timbres at midi filter page. Also have the damper mute organ in zone 3 when pressed, either w/ AMS in the program, or controlling level of an IFX.

Now you can start the verse playing zones 1 & 2, eventually holding a chord in zone 2 w/ damper. Move RH to zone 3, play horns on beat 4, release damper and play a chord (now with organ) on beat 1.

At the 5th & 6th verse measures a new combi (or spare low octave if you have space in the first one) would let the LH play bass & harpsichord: thumb for bass notes (Bb, D) with other fingers doing 3rds in the D-G range below that. You could optionally put extra harpsi notes in the bass zone to complete triads (the lower Bb & A notes in the Bb & Dm chords).

There's more to deal with in the song, but hopefully that gives you some ideas.

Another trick you might find useful is (in Global menu) setting the 8 chord pads to what will be the lowest 8 notes when you're in octave down mode (via SW1 or SW2), e.g. A-1 through E0 for 88 keys. Then you can store a combi with the switch activated and have some chords & bass within reach of LH.
