Keybed inquiry

Post by yoshi88 »

Which Korg 61,76 & 88 keybeds were supplied to Korg by Yamaha & Fatar of Italy?

I assume that the Korg Trinity and Triton EX as well as o1W 61 & 76 were Yamaha keybeds.

What about the 88 note versions for:
01W 88
Trinity 88
Triton/EX 88 etc?

Hi, regarding the keybeds you mention above, i can comment mostly on the 61 and 76 key versions as i never owned any Korg 88 key.

All korg top of the line synth's (61 and 76 key) from the M1 up to the Oasys 76 used the Yamaha FS keybed that was first introduced in the Yamaha DX7.

All Korg keyboards on the list below use that same keybed (Yamaha FS) and consequently the same keys:

M1, T(2/3), 01W(Fd/Pro), Wavestation, i(2/3), i30, Trinity(plus/pro/v3), Z1, Triton(classic/studio/extreme) (not the LE), Oasys (76).

The Korg T1 and 01W ProX (88key) used the same Yamaha weighted keybed as the yamaha KX88 controller. To the best om my knowledge, all Korg's 88 keyboards after the 01W ProX up until Korg started to use it's own keybeds use some kind on Fatar keybed.

Hope it helps.
