Best way to use a Triton live?

Post by LordAirey »

Hi,

I'm new to the Triton world so please forgive this probably quite basic question!

I'm going to be using a Triton Classic live and was wondering what the best way to program and organise sounds for live use? I'm using a Roland RD300GX as my master keyboard and want to play the sounds from that, sometimes layering them with the Triton Sounds and sometimes playing just Triton sounds on the Roland. Obviously, I also want to use the Triton keyboard too (playing Triton sounds)!

It would seem that the best option for this would be to use Combi mode on the Triton- that way I could have a Combi for each song and assign certain sounds to the Roland via MIDI etc whilst being able to play some on the Triton. However, I don't want to overwrite the factory Combis as there only appears to be one user patch!

I've heard of people using Sequencer mode for live use- but would this involve loading all my settings from a floppy disk before each gig?

A couple of other queries- is it possible to have the Triton in Program mode with one sound, and have the Roland playing a different sound from the Triton?

Finally- could anyone direct me to a list of the MIDI bank change data (MSB, LSB etc) that I could use to program the Triton from the Roland?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you sort this?

In Combi mode you'll have to overwrite factory Combis to store your own - surely there are plenty you don't need?

Yes - use sequencer mode - thats best - and you will need to load each power on - though it'll be very quick.

No can't play more than 1 sound in Program mode.

Check manual online somewhere re midi.
