EXB Radias - no effects on it's own?!?

Post by Stargazer »

If I understood well the manual, EXB Radias uses the effects of M3. Is that right, can someone confirm?

That is correct. That can be both a plus and a minus. The good thing is the M3 has many different effects available so you have a lot of flexibility. The bad part is there are only 5 IFX slots plus 2 Master Effects and 1 Total Effect all of which are shared between all programs in a combi. You can quickly run out of IFX slots.

Thank you Bald Eagle for the accurate response.

It's a real shame. Five insert effects, we had that since Trinity in 1995, and the same we have still today in M3, and over all middle to low range, including Microstation and Kross.

But the Kronos features 12 insert effects, plus 2 master effects and 2 total.
So a significant improvement there.

The Radias-R also features effectively 9 simultaneous FX (8 inserts in pairs, 1 master), plus per-timbre EQ.

The effects on it are relatively detailed and programable, particularly for a mainline VA. I'd say they were more or less workstation class themselves.
