drum sequencer that pattern based allow on fly pattern jumps

Post by shaneblyth »

Im looking for something that allows me to make drum patterns and then allow me to select different patterns in real time. so you can jump around in the song easily I'd only need to to do drums. As long as I can choose patterns easily on the fly you know like a verse then back to a chorus and just let it loop that pattern as long as you want then go to another pattern.
Anyone got any suggestions? I'm mainly interested in acoustic sounding drums or I suppose I could hook it to my Kronos with MIDI and use the Kronos drum sounds
Any help or suggestions of something that would do that on an iPad would be awesome
Thanks

My go to app for drum programing is the DM1 and it has many kits to choose from/ both electric and acoustic. you can create patterns and switch loops in your own selected patterns or pattern 1,1,1,,2,1,1,1,4 ect in song mode or you can switch to pattern mode and then play the loop for as long as you like and then tap another pattern when ever you like.
The kicker is it only costs 5 bucks.

question . when in pattern mode and you let a loop play for a while and you tap another pattern does it instantly jump to the new pattern or lets say the pattern is 4 beats long if you tap the next pattern on the second beat will it wait till it finishes those goal 8 beats of a pattern and then smoothly move to the next pattern. I like the idea of reaching up while playing my kronos and tapping a pattern anytime thats suitable in the middle of the current pattern and then it waits till the end of that pattern before it moves to the newly selected one.
thanks again

You set up patterns in song mode if you wish to play full patterns. In pattern mode it does switch instantly but smoothly. 64 drum kits, mixer, 16 or 32 beat patterns, 2 kaoss type pads for effects automation available.,Also has a randomizer. each pad of the kit is able to be edited with pads from other kits so you can mix and match. Chain together patterns to make up a song or just trigger patterns within the song , which ever way you choose. It is like an Ielectribe on steroids but simpler to operate.

When your hands are busy playing its great to have a decent size window of time to hit that key to move on

I deleted Tabletop from my iPad due to its failure to cooperate with audiobus. I only have so much room and am saving space for apps that integrate well with each other.
