Creating a continuously looping pattern sequence

Post by Euclid01 »

This is probably a very basic question.

I am able to create a pattern using synth/drum/snare/hh but cannot make its playback loop past the 8 step sequence. As in it plays through once and stops at the 8th step. Every tutorial I watch simply presses play and their sequence plays continuously.

Is there a way to do this? Am I missing something simple? Probably!

Cheers

Havn't heard of this happening before. Did you buy it new or was it used & already like this when you got it ??

The only suggestion that comes to mind is to download & install the latest firmware To see if that fixes it.

Yeah I just bought it brand new.

I just opened it and started playing with it. Should I have done a set up process first?

Everything seems to be working except the looping sequencing

??

No, that doesn't seem right to me. All it does in 'play' mode is loop so if your's is not looping i suspect it is faulty.
There's no set up process. Just look in the manual for operating instructions.

As for the firmware idea, if it were my unit i would reload the latest firmware anyway to see if that sets it straight. It might be that simple & i doubt that it would void the warranty either because it is korg's own issued file.

Just make sure that if you do update it to follow the procedure instructions fully & step by step.

Hi,

Probably your monotribe is upgraded to version 2.0 of the OS and has the new global function available on stepbutton 8 switched on.

When it is enabled, the sequencer plays the sequence only once and needs a new hit on the play button or a pulse on the sync in.
This function allows to daisy chain several monotribes, to create a longer sequence.
So by switching off the global setting 8, the sequencer starts to loop again.

You may check this at your side.

Bye.

You can use it to create a phrase sample of the exact length you need -for looping purposes- without the usual hassle of trimming it to the correct length.
