I have the following setup:
Krome, Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface, Ableton Live 9 Lite running on Windows 8. I've got the audio and midi of the Krome running into the Scarlett which is connected to the PC through USB (note that the Krome is *not* connected through USB directly to the PC).
I'm able to control sounds from Ableton using the Krome, but I don't know how to record my Krome sounds into Ableton. I've downloaded the Krome USB/Midi driver (although I assume that this is not really necessary since I'm not connecting Krome over USB) and the Krome plugin editor, which I've installed as both VST and standalone. The standalone editor does seem to control basic program changes on the workstation, but the VST plugin doesn't seem to do anything (although it is visible in the Ableton plugin list).
Should I see some indication in Ableton about the actual Krome workstation? I feel like I'm close to getting this working, but just missing something. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Jacob

I think I saw that you had your question answered over in Keyboard Corner. Selecting the appropriate audio input from the Scarlett in Ableton is the biggest issue.
There are a few threads here on the hassle that using the plug-in to control the Krome can be (though, they tend to be about the Audio Unit version, rather than the VST), so you may have an easier time of it.
Good luck to you and your son!
